South Simcoe Maple Syrup Club

New club this year. Club started Saturday February 20, Next meeting is Saturday March 13 at 9:00 am on line via Zoom.

Tapped tree and bucket collecting sap

In this club you will learn about the sweetest liquid produced in Canada every spring! Maple Syrup production is an important part of Canada’s history and how the process of making maple syrup has changed over the centuries. We will expose how to identify the best trees to tap, different methods of tapping trees, how to turn sap into syrup and the many tools and rules associated with making delicious Ontario maple syrup. We will learn how to use maple syrup in some sweet recipes! There will be an achievement day project. The club started on Saturday February 20, 2021 via on line Zoom at 9:00 am. Club hopes to meet Saturday mornings between 9 am to 11 am. Dates to reserve are March 13 & 27 and April 10 & 24.

Age Range:9-21 years of age as of December 31, 2020. To complete the club members must pay their membership fee, complete all required forms, participate in a minimum of 2/3 hours of meeting time and participate in the club achievement day project. Members will need technology and internet connection.
