4-H Ontario COVID-19 update – May 13, 2020

4-H Ontario, 4-H Ontario | (Posted May 15, 2020)

This is a reminder to all 4-H Ontario associations that the following mandatory guidelines are still in place while the Province of Ontario is under a state of emergency:

  • The mandatory suspension of all in-person 4-H related activities. This includes:
    • Working with 4-H livestock projects not housed on your own farm
    • 4-H Club meetings and activities
    • Local and regional activities (including but not limited to Go For The Gold, Judging Competitions etc.)
    • Provincial Events

Choosing to disregard these guidelines puts you and others at risk for health and safety and our insurance does not cover you. We recommend that all 4-H volunteers and youth consider hosting digital events where possible and are working to support you in this transition.

We will continue to assess risk on an ongoing basis and are following recommended steps from public, local, federal government agencies. Public agencies are communicating effectively and quickly with many resources. Updates will be shared as information becomes available.
