Maggie Kyle of Brant County Named YAC Rep for 2017/18

(Posted February 9, 2017)

4-H Ontario is proud to announce Maggie Kyle as the new Representative for 4-H Canada’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC).

Kyle has been an active member in the Brant County 4-H Association for the past 10 years and has participated in numerous provincial and national opportunities during her 4-H career. These have included Provincial Youth Leadership Camp, Youth Adventure Camp, Career Mania, the Citizenship Seminar and being a delegate on the Going Global Exchange to Jamaica and at the U.S.A. National 4-H Conference.

Through these opportunities, as well as being a Youth Leader for several clubs, she says she has developed as both a leader and person, while gaining public speaking, group facilitation and teamwork skills. She hopes to now be able to use these skills on a national level by mentoring 4-H members across the country.

Kyle is a current student at York University’s Glendon’s College where she is studying a Bilingual International Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Women’s Studies. She is also currently a Peer Mentor at Glendon College’s Lion’s Den and is involved in her community with Rotary International and previously with many minor sports associations in Ayr.

Kyle is looking forward to learning more about Canada through this position, especially with this being the year of Canada’s 150th Anniversary.
