Essex 4-H - 4-H Horse Club & 4-H Exchange Club Fundraising
(Posted May 22, 2012)

The 4-H Horse and 4-H Exchange Club's would like to thank Christine and Gerard Bernauer for generously allowing us to have a booth at the Rockn'Rodeo on May 19th and 20th. The Horse Club had made homemade horse treats to sell for $1 a bag to raise money for the clubs achievement event being held in the fall; they will go for a trail ride at TJ Stables. The Exchange Club members were selling bottled water that was generously donated by Shoppers Drug Mart in Harrow. We also sold homemade chocolate four-leaf clovers as well as potted plants (Hens & Chicks, and Irish plants) that were donated by a 4-H Leader Merrie Day, Thank you!

The Exchange Club is travelling to Canwood Saskatchewan in July and will be hosting them in August. The club is raising funds to host the group so we can share highlights of our county and province with them. It was a great weekend, also want to thank the Rodeo Clown who helped us by letting the crowd know that the 4-H girls were selling the water at the grandstands! Our group also helped clean up after the event was done for the evening on Saturday and Sunday. We hope to participate in this great event again next year, it was a great way to help promote 4-H in our area and raise some funds for our clubs! Thanks to everyone who came out to help with our weekends activities and to all of those who supported us by making a purchase.
