Taking A Walk On The Wild Side

Perth 4-H - Walk On The Wild Side
(Posted August 6, 2013)

The first 4-H Walk On The Wild Side meeting was held at the Listowell Fire Hall. When my fellow club members and I arrived, we played a get to know you game called "Someone Who?? - bingo!" After that, we talked about the rules, and put people in office. We then divided into three groups of boys, younger girls, and older girls. The groups went their seperate ways to the three different stations. The stations were making s'mores and learning the rules and regulations of fires, pitching tents, and discussing first-aid. My first station was first-aid. We looked at multiple items found in a first-aid kit and what they are used for! Next, I went to the tenting station, where we learned to pitch tents with no instructions. After that I went to the s'mores station and learned the rules and regulations of having a fire, while enjoying delicious s'mores! Then, everyone went inside to adjourn the meeting. I think everyone had a really fun time!
