Cookstown 4-H Horse and Pony club

Members will learn basic horsemanship, we hope to have a couple guest speakers- a vet and a blacksmith.  We also hope to have a feed rep from a known feed supplier to discuss with the members the nutritional value of different feeds for horses.

Member’s are not required to have their own horse there are some open to be loaned if need but helpful if members do have their own horse. Light or heavy horse excepted. Please no miniatures.

We plan to have meetings on Wednesday nights but open to change evenings if this day does not work well for all members because they maybe in multiple clubs or have other extra curricular activities.

Our Achievement day will be held in August date to be determined.

To successfully complete the club members will need to make 2/3rd of their own meetings, attending the local judging competition and their achievement day.

Horse Project

Who’s ready to horse around? The Horse Project is the perfect intro to horses and covers a wide variety of horse related topics, including riding and healthcare.
