The club will be capped at 15.
The members will learn how the plow, and staking out their plow lands. We also are planning to have a mechanic to teach the members some basic maintenance on tractors and plows. We hope to attend a farm equipment dealer, get a judge to talk to the members to tell them what they will be judged on! We also have a fellow plowman who has plowed at the Canadians and the Worlds lined up to show off his tractor and plow and show the club how it operates. We also hope to have a junior member talk to the members about their experience plowing at the Canadians out west last year! We plan on have an experienced soil tester join a meeting to explain how it is done. A meeting to discuss farm equipment safety the do’s and don’ts around tractors.
Our achievement day is still to be determined. It will be an all day event.
The club requirements are that the member must be in good standing, attend 2/3rd of their own meeting times and attend their achievement day- which will be plowing a whole land.
Members if possible are encouraged to have their own equipment – tractor they can handle not too big for the member, and or a lawn tractor with a small plow. The leaders maybe able to round up some equipment but are limited. Members may need to share equipment.
Holy plow! You may think plowing is serious business – and rightly so – but it can also be fun, challenging and satisfying.View Project Manual
