DUNDAS 4-H DAIRY CLUB

Join us to learn how to care and prepare a dairy calf for the show ring and develop your judging skills. We will be pairing up for a couple of joint meetings this season with other clubs to offer a chance to network and make friends with a larger connection of participants. We are looking forward to seeing our returning and new 4-H participants at our first meeting on April 17th.

Meeting Dates:

  • Meeting 1 – Friday, April 17th @ 1:00pm-3:00pm
  • Meeting 2 – Thursday, May 8th @ 7:30pm-9:30pm
  • Meeting 3 – Sunday, June 8th @ 11:00am – 3:00pm (Double Meeting) Dundas Livestock Clubs Clipping & Fitting Event
  • Meeting 4 – Monday, July 7th @ 7:00pm-9:00pm
  • Judging Night – Date TBD
  • Meeting 5 – Tuesday, August12th – time TBD
  • Achievement Day – Saturday, August 16th @ South Mountain Fair

Club Requirements:

  • Source a female dairy calf project to show
  • Attend at least two thirds of meeting time
  • Judging Night – mandatory for livestock member
  • Exhibit calf at Dundas 4-H Achievement Day
  • Positive attitude, team spirit, sportsmanship, and strong work ethic

 

Dairy Project

Dairy: it’s more than milk! This project will teach you the ins and outs of a successful dairy operation, covering the basics like animal care, plus the latest dairy farming tools and practices.
