The Durham West Sheep Club is a fun club with members ranging from ages 9-21. We have members who have minimal experience with sheep to experienced. Our club begins in May and finishes with our achievement day show at the Uxbridge Fall Fair in September (the Saturday following Labour Day) Members who qualify are invited to show at the LEX in Lindsay and all members are invited to participate at the Royal Winter Fair in November.
We focus on learning about sheep, good husbandry, showmanship and judging. Meetings will be held at sheep farms and other public places. After our first meeting, we will choose a meeting night that can work for the majority of members and leaders.
Each member should have access to a lamb to work with over the season. If you do not have access to a lamb, please notify the leaders by email prior to the start of the season.
