Durham West Sheep Club

The Durham West Sheep Club is a Livestock Club where members learn about sheep.   Topics covered include health, nutrition, breeding,  selection, housing, shearing, and more. You’ll also learn how to show and judge sheep.  Our club completion day is at Uxbridge Fair.  Members train, care for, and prepare for show a 2023 born ewe lamb.  Lambs must be tagged according to federal regulations.  Other show opportunities are available at the Lindsay Exhibition (must qualify for this show) and at the Royal Winter Fair 4H Sheep Day.

In this project, you’ll learn:

  • How to handle and care for lamb and sheep
  • Important tips on feeding and nutrition
  • Shearing and Wool
  • How to show your sheep in competition
