We run two woodworking clubs, a junior club and a senior club. The junior club members must be 11 years old by January 1 of the year they participate in the club. General safety in the workshop and, in particular, the safe operation of motorized shop tools is highly emphasized during the first meeting. Members in the junior club will be making 2 projects. One will be a flower pot and the second project will be a bandsaw box. The flower pot will require the use of the mitre saw, drill press and a lot of hammering. The bandsaw box requires the use of wood clamps, bandsaw and both hand and power sanding. Senior members will be making a small garden bench. Both clubs will have 3 approved 4-H leaders in attendance. There will be a maximum of 9 members per club.
