Always wanted to get up close and personal with a dairy cow?? This is your chance, Essex 4H dairy club meets monthly to learn about dairy farming, and to have you learn to take care of and how to show a dairy heifer (girl) calf. Farms in the area will provide you with a project animal, just bring your steel toe boots and get ready to have fun.
Achievement day will be at Harrow Fair over labour day weekend, and for this you will need white jeans/pants, a black belt (not in karate) and a white shirt for the show, and lots of barn clothes for taking care of the animals.
Dairy Project
Dairy: it’s more than milk! This project will teach you the ins and outs of a successful dairy operation, covering the basics like animal care, plus the latest dairy farming tools and practices.
