The Lanark Maple Syrup 4H club celebrates the tradition and history of maple syrup production in Lanark and the surrounding area. Throughout the club meetings, we will explore the basics of maple syrup production, sugar-bush management, tree identification, and the realities of small business operations. We will tour different farms to learn from our neighbors and enjoy sweet treats along the way.
The first meeting will take place at St. Andrews Church, Perth – corner of North and Drummond street. The meeting will start at 6pm and is estimated to end at 8pm. At this meeting you will receive an paper copy of all the meeting dates and times. If you’d like this list ahead of time please contact Holly (holly-oliver@outlook.com).
If you are unable to attend the first meeting, the second meeting is planned to be at Fulton’s Sugar Bush on Saturday March 29th at 10am.
Please contact Holly (holly-oliver@outlook.com) to pre-register for the club so that I may get an idea of numbers. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing you on the 18th!
