Join our club to learn about dairy cows.
We will visit dairy farms to learn about the physical traits of dairy livestock, and how to feed and care for dairy cows & calves. You will also learn how to be a judge, developing critical thinking and public speaking skills.
To complete the project, you will prepare a calf to lead, and show at our achievement day, held at Listowel Fair in July.
If you do not have access to a calf, the leaders will assist you in finding a calf to work with, so that you can complete the club.
Dairy Project
Dairy: it’s more than milk! This project will teach you the ins and outs of a successful dairy operation, covering the basics like animal care, plus the latest dairy farming tools and practices.
