South Simcoe Field and Crop Club 4-H Project

South Simcoe Field and Crop Club will meet once a month on the second Thursday of the month from 6:30-8:30pm from March to August. This year’s focus is on winter wheat and potatoes! Your project field will be a wheat field (we will help you find one to scout) and also grow a pot/pail/bag of potatoes in your backyard. We will visit farms all across South Simcoe! You will learn about crop development, pests, digital software, storage and end uses for these crops! Achievement Day will be at the GNE. Leaders are Marieke Patton (marieke.patton@gmail.com) and Brian Dunlop (brian@dunlogon.com)

4-H Field Crops – Species & Management

This project provides a great intro to Ontario field crops (like corn, wheat, oats). By the end, you’ll be able to grow your very own crops and identify crop species with your eyes closed!
