Sudbury District – Sudbury Club – Community Gardening

The Sudbury 4-H Club manages the Westmount 4-H Club Community Garden in New Sudbury. This project involves community gardening throughout the seasons. From early spring to the seasonal closing of the Garden in late fall, 4-H participants and their families participate in Youth for Food Security – Shared Harvest Program. Through several sessions, 4-H members learn all aspects of running a successful community garden program. The outcomes include planning successful crops, committing to watering and caring for the Garden in a rotation schedule, viewing the plants and herbs in all their stages as well as fun activities at the Garden including Art in the Garden, Garden Picnic, and social recreation.
