4-H Accomplishments

The month of March is all about celebrating 4-H'rs amazing accomplishments. From the available scholarship opportunities that reward the hard work of 4-H Members, to celebrating Volunteer achievements through the Syngenta 4-H Ontario Arbor Awards, this month is all about recognizing the amazing people who make 4-H, 4-H. Read on to learn about the people who have made a difference in 4-H, and the opportunities that are available to Members and Volunteers.

Syngenta 4-H Ontario Arbor Award Winners
The 4-H Ontario staff is proud to introduce you to the 2012 Syngenta 4-H Ontario Arbor Award recipients: Deborah Brown, Brian O’Neill and Anne Marie Werry. Each one of these Volunteers has made a tremendous impact on 4-H in Ontario and their local community. You can read their 4-H stories here >
 
Market Sense Registration Open
Market Sen$e registration is now open. This brand new Sen$e program will teach you how to take your product from conception to a consumer market. The use of tours, presentations, workshops and networking opportunities will keep things interesting and teach you about business plans, succession planning and financial management. Meet Debra Brown
Debra Brown recently joined the 4-H Ontario team as the Senior Manager, Volunteer and Community Engagement. Debra has 15 years of experience working with volunteers and youth. She brings with her an amazing skill set for volunteer and community engagement, as well as a passion for the 4-H program. Debra was a 4-H'r herself and she is grateful for her 4-H Club experiences.  Read on to learn more about Debra >
Insurance Teleconference
This annual call, held this year on April 12 at Noon and 8 p.m. (EDT) is open to all. The purpose is to highlight and understand 4-H insurance policies. This is the perfect opportunity to bring your questions forward. A representative from 4-H Ontario’s insurance company will be in attendance. More >
MLSE Thank You
MLSE Team Up Foundation $50,000 grant update - Thanks to all the 4-H’rs who took the time to vote to help Youth Adventure Camp (YAC) win the MLSE grant. YAC unfortunately did not make it to the next round of voting. The grant will be offered again in 2013 giving YAC another chance to receive $50,000!
Congratulations Dr. Reed
4-H Volunteer and Veterinary Club Leader, Dr. Reg Reed, was recently honoured by the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association with the Outstanding Veterinary Award. 4-H Ontario is lucky to have such an experienced and outstanding Club Leader.  More >
