For Immediate Release:

(Rockwood, ONT – April 28, 2022) The Ontario 4-H Foundation is once again preparing for its two annual fundraising golf tournaments. The Guelph event will be held on Thursday May 26, at Victoria Park East Golf Course. The Ottawa one will follow on Thursday June 9 at the Anderson Links Golf and Country Club.

In conjunction with the tournaments, there will also be a silent auction. Auction items are welcomed until May 12. The auctions will begin two weeks prior and end two days prior to each tournament.

Foundation Chair Kim Turnbull is once again setting up a competition between 4-H County Associations as to which can raise the most money through auction donations. Each of the top three counties will get a cash prize added to their County Endowment Fund from Turnbull as well as a basket of gifts all engraved with Ontario 4-H logo suitable for gifts or awards.

Those who can’t attend the tournaments are asked to consider donating an item to the auction, sponsoring the event or donating money as a ‘Friend of 4-H’. All details can be found on the Foundation page of the 4-H Ontario website.

Monies donated to the Foundation go to the long-term sustainability of 4-H in Ontario. Since 2008, the Foundation has also supported local associations by investing funds on their behalf for the benefit of programs within their counties. Every year a percentage of the Foundation’s earnings are used by 4-H Ontario to help keep delivering innovative and exciting projects and events.

Since being founded in 1995, the goal of the Foundation has been simple – to acquire and invest funds through endowments and donations for the long-term benefit of the 4-H Programs in Ontario. At the end of 2021, funds managed by the Foundation totaled nearly $3.5 million. Regular charitable donations to the Foundation are welcomed and can also be made through the 4-H Ontario website.
