4-H Conferences

4-H is proud to offer six unique conferences that aim to improve your life or career in inspiring, meaningful ways. Meet like-minded youth as you grow and learn, together.

Career Mania 2019

For youth ages 13-17 (prior to January 1, 2021)

Explore a wide array of career opportunities and learn the tools you need to get the job you want at Career Mania.

We know the thought of choosing your future career can be a daunting one! Career Mania will introduce you to careers you may not have considered before and show you what life as a post-secondary student is like.

  • Learn about different careers and how to get started in them
  • Get resume tips from experts
  • Master the art of writing a cover letter that gets attention
  • Hear professionals speak about different university and college programs
  • Take part in interactive activities, and more

You’ll also get to go on tours of the beautiful University of Guelph and Conestoga College campuses and see what it’s like to live on campus and attend lectures.

An inspiring and challenging opportunity, the 4-H Canada Citizenship Congress will teach you about Canada, our government, and yourself.

Discover Canada through other 4-H Members’ eyes. Citizenship Congress 2020 will deepen your understanding of governance and public policy, improve your communication skills and expand your horizons.

Workshops culminate with the exciting annual debate, where members construct insightful arguments and defenses in a supportive and lively environment.

To apply for Citizenship Congress, please complete the 4-H Ontario National Opportunity Registration Form.

Upon being selected, an additional $400 (approximate) registration fee is to be paid to the Canadian 4-H Council.

Ontario delegates for this opportunity are supported by the Katherine & Byron Beeler Leadership & Citizenship Endowment Fund.

Gain valuable tips and tools in career progression and personal financial management with the Igniting Your Career Conference.

COVID-19 Update

The health and safety of our youth, volunteers and stakeholders is our top priority. Due to further reductions in the number of individuals allowed at a gathering and the increased number of COVID-19 cases in Ontario, Igniting Your Career (both East and West offerings) is temporarily suspended. 4-H Ontario will make regular assessments and updates on the status of these events and will reschedule Igniting Your Career as social-distancing protocols are lifted. The 4-H National Members Forum is our longest running program for a reason.

The program places an emphasis on positive development, agricultural exhibitions and developing bonds with youth from across the country.

Through experiential learning, workshops and interactive site tours, attendees will develop a deeper awareness, knowledge and understanding of the environment and healthy living.

The USA National 4-H Conference is the premiere national civic engagement opportunity for 4-H members across the USA and beyond.

The USA National 4-H Conference is an exciting opportunity you’ll never forget. Canadian 4-H Members will meet first in Ottawa for one evening, where you’ll bond as a delegation.

Once in the US, you’ll attend educational conferences and get the opportunity to apply your newly developed and refined skills.

Delegates will choose an important societal topic, and in roundtable groups, prepare a briefing. The groups will then present their briefing to federal officials around the Washington, D.C. area.

In addition to conference activities, Canadian delegates will have a chance to tour Washington, visiting some of the nation’s most famous cultural and political sites, including the Lincoln Memorial and Capitol Hill.
