Workshops and preparation sessions will culminate with the annual debate where you and your fellow 4-H’ers from across Canada will construct insightful arguments and practice your skills of persuasion and public speaking. You’ll leave Citizenship Congress having learned more about Canada, its government, and yourself.

Returning for the first time since 2019!

The annual U.S. National 4-H Conference is the premier civic engagement opportunity for 4-H members across the U.S. and Canada. One 4-H Member (aged 18-19 at the time of the event) from each province in Canada, forms the Canadian delegation. Conference delegates choose an important societal topic, and, in round table groups, prepare a formal briefing. Briefings are presented to U.S. federal officials around the Washington, D.C. area. In addition to conference activities, 4-H Canada delegates may have a chance to tour Washington, visit some of the nation’s famous cultural and political sites, including Lincoln Memorial and Capitol Hill, and visit the Canadian Embassy.

Delegates will also learn more about the U.S. government, share their voice with 4-H partners and become more empowered than ever to create positive social change during this major U.S. conference.

The U.S. National 4-H Conference is supported by the Honourable Lye and Sharon Vanclief leadership Endowment fund.
