4-H is for everyone – it is a hidden gem that has so much to offer to youth from any rural or urban community in the province. Our youth are being empowered to develop their critical thinking and communication skills, they learn the importance of policy and procedures, learn about teamwork and problem solving and most importantly they learn how to fail and move forward in a safe and protected environment.
“ ‘Better’ is the one word that goes with everything when I think about 4-H,” says 4-H Youth, Morgan. “Better person, better friend, better leader, better choices, better prepared. Without 4-H, I would not be the person I am today.”
Building a better future for youth across the province means dreaming big. Our community and our donors are critical in our efforts to deliver positive youth development programming through philanthropic investment of key priority needs. With your generosity, we’re able to deliver high-impact, accessible, and affordable programs focused on 4-H’s four leadership development pillars; Community Engagement & Communications, Science & Technology, Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security and Environment & Healthy Living. Most importantly, you are helping build the skills that youth need to be successful. 4-H youth are more likely to attend post-secondary education, more likely to be engaged in their community, and more likely to have a greater sense of confidence navigating the search for a career.
Funding received from individual donors, corporations, foundations and through grants allows us to deliver programs and services such as:
“…I am proud to have spent my youth learning from many of the knowledgeable volunteers within the organization. I am proud to be part of an organization that has allowed me to grow, network and learn to do by doing.” Hayley Ashton, 4-H Ambassador
