Lanark 4-H Association

Lanark County has a variety of clubs ranging from Dairy, Beef and Sheep, to Cooking, baking and knitting. There is normally always a club for everyone. We run early Spring into Winter, we have an awards night each fall. and Most achievements happen at Local fairs throughout the fall.

IMPORTANT:   2022 many clubs are starting up and some have already been completed. Please contact lanarkcounty4h@gmail.com  to confirm if clubs are still accepting members,  before registering online!

The Lanark County 4-H Association allows youth in Lanark County to participate in activities both locally, regionally, provincially and internationally. Thanks to the dedication of many volunteers, kids in the area are able to acquire the skills and participate in the opportunities that 4-H can provide.

Poultry Project

FULL- Poultry Club These Meetings will be outside at local farms, right now I do not have all the locations finalized, but the dates are as follows. April 7th, May 5th, June 2nd, July 7th, August 4th, September 1st, and Achievement September 24th, 2022 at the Macdonalds Corners Fair. Members can be 9 to 21, as of Jan. 1st. You do not need chickens, but its easier if you do for the hands on, and show. We welcome experienced or inexperienced kids. We will discuss healthy, feeding, breeds, and incubating. as well as the hands on, Poultry Showmanship Side. Please email lrkcountypoultry4hclub@gmail.com to register for this club!!

Animal Friends Project

FULL- Small Animal Club This Club will be about feeding, raising small pets, handling ,and we will turn to focus on Agility further on into the Summer. Some meetings will double up with other clubs. Meeting Dates: April 7th, May 26th, June 9th, July 21st, August 25th, September 22nd and Fair Date September 24th, 2022 All Meetings will be in the Carleton Place Area Please Register for this Club at lanarkcounty4h@gmail.com

Green Thumbs Project

FULL- This will be a bit of a hybrid Club, Gardening plus crafting, this club will run from March 31st to end of September 1 thursday evening a month, plus a possibility of a extra date or 2 thrown in. Goat Project

New Club!!!! Goat club! Goat Club is starting in the Perth Area, a focus on Goat care, milking, tours etc. Will be generalized in the Perth Area, starting soon!! Contact your leader at barb.keith@ripnet.com

Plowing Project

NEW CLUB ALERT! The Lanark County Plowing club is back by high demand for the first time in TWO years! Meetings will be held on Monday nights from 6:30pm to 8:30/pm. The meetings will held on Drummond Concession 12A, outside of Lanark. Contact Avery at 613 290 4419 The achievement for this club will be on August 13,2022 at the Lanark County Plowing Match Hosted by Doug Craig & Family at 545 Rosedale Road, Smiths Falls! There will be a maximum of 10 participants on a first come, first serve basis. We are looking for another small tractor! First meeting: July 11th!
