Lennox & Addington 4-H Alpaca Club

Ever wanted to get up close to these cute fluffy animals? Now is your chance and yes, you will probably get spit on at some point! But that is half the fun when being around these curious, sweet, docile animals. In our Alpaca club, we will learn:

• the origins of alpacas,
• their journey to Canada,
• understanding alpaca behavior,
• their care,
• showmanship techniques,
• and, of course, shearing and managing their fiber.

The time spent around these wonderful animals will teach you that there is a lot more to them than their fleece and long necks.

There is an option to purchase an Ohio State University 4-H Llama and Alpaca Resource book for approximately $30. This is an EXCELLENT resource that we feel will be valuable for our participants. It is very thorough with the material we will learn.
