The Chatham-Kent 4-H Dairy Club is a fun dairy club that teaches 4-H participants how to work with and train their 4-H calves. We try to host meetings with surrounding counties so that 4-H participants can meet new members and see other dairy operations. We generally start the club in March and host one meeting per month from then until September when we host our Achievement Day. Those 4-H participants who qualify can compete at the TD Calf Classic at the Royal Winter Fair. We also encourage 4-H participants to go to Regional 4-H Shows as well. We practise our judging skills, showmanship and fitting skills. Participants are encouraged to find their own 4-H calves but 4-H leaders maybe able to help find the 4-H member a calf as well. 4-H outline will be forwarded to participants as it is completed.
