Finance Manager

For over 100 years, 4-H Ontario has been one of the most highly respected non-profit organizations in Canada. With over 23,000 youth members, it maintains a wide presence across Ontario and beyond focused on providing vibrant youth development experiences through innovative community-based programs.

As they enter a new phase of growth as an organization, they are seeking to hire a seasoned Finance Manager who will oversee all aspects of finance administration, compliance and controls for an organization as part of a small and lean team.

Your responsibilities will encompass key decision areas below:

  • Manage day to day financial operations of 4-H Ontario
  • Annual Financial and budget planning in collaboration with the Leadership Team
  • Analyze organization financial performance against key business metrics
  • Ensure all accounts payables and receivables are controlled within CRA and audit processing standards
  • Ensure all financial reporting obligations are met for OMAFRA, 4-H Council, and other regulating bodies
  • Responsible for audit review and required government documentation for annual charity return (i.e. T3010, HST)
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Control staff business credit card process
  • Reconcile bank statements

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for all areas of finance including financial reporting, annual planning, budgeting and monthly variance analysis. You will function as a trusted finance business partner who will engage and collaborate with other business areas like philanthropy, program delivery and operations to support decision making. 

You will leverage your CPA designation and years of finance experience in the NPO space and ability to work cross functionally to make an impact in this role. It’s an exciting time to join as they evolve the finance function to play a pivotal role in defining strategic direction for an organization that works towards empowering youth to be active participants in community development.
