Try the “stretch test” to determine the side of the fabric that will wear better and look nicer. Pull along the selvage edge (tugging on the lengthwise grain) and the fabric will pull to the ‘right’ side. If you pull on the crosswise grain of the fabric, it will curl to the ‘wrong’ side.
